I’m into the fourth week of this trip and I have not done a good job of putting notes together – I’ll try to work on that during the flights home. An unintended highlight of this trip is my experience with dental care in Thailand. I had two incidents – a crown that fell off and I somehow bit wrong and knocked a lower tooth loose, not a great experience.
Having a crown glued back is no big deal, assuming the tooth and crown are fine – they clean the tooth and crown and glue it back on. I had this done at the Thantakit dental clinic, located in All Seasons Place, a small shopping mall that is connected to my hotel.
Thantakit is very modern and professional and all of the staff I encountered spoke great English. It took the dentist about twenty minutes to get the crown back on and the was cost about $30 USD. I bet it would have been $150 or so back home. I thought that $30 USD was a great deal.
Even better, except for my loose tooth, was the visit to get it checked out. An x-ray, bite adjustment, and consultation cost me all of $12 USD. I couldn’t believe it. And fortunately, the dentist thinks that the tooth will be fine after a week or so.
So if you ever find yourself in Bangkok, Thailand and require dental care, I can recommend Thantakit.
