After hearing nearby fire trucks and a helicopter circling overhead I grabbed a camera and went outside to see what was going on.\u00a0 A fire started in an apartment above some shops 200 yards\/meters or so from my house. Four hook and ladder trucks showed up to fight the fire. It started in a wooden section of the building and I thought for sure it would go up in flames and collapse. The Oakland fire department was on top of it. Hats off to them.\u00a0 If there&#8217;s one thing the city of Oakland does well it&#8217;s firefighting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The was a little excitement in the neighborhood today.
