The was a little excitement in the neighborhood today. After hearing nearby fire trucks and a helicopter circling overhead I grabbed a camera and went outside to see what was going on.  A fire started in an apartment above some shops 200 yards/meters or so from my house. Four hook and ladder trucks showed up to fight the fire. It started in a wooden section of the building and I thought for sure it would go up in flames and collapse. The Oakland fire department was on top of it. Hats off to them.  If there’s one thing the city of Oakland does well it’s firefighting.
